Your matrix and backups

No account is required. The online generator saves source rows in this browser’s local storage under literature-review-matrix-draft-v1. The outline builder reads the same draft. This storage persists across visits until you clear it; it does not synchronize between devices or browsers.

The tool processes matrix notes and imported JSON backups on your device. It does not upload their contents to a site database or AI service. Downloaded CSV, Markdown, Excel, and JSON files are stored wherever your browser saves downloads. If you import a spreadsheet into another service, that service’s privacy terms apply.

Use “Reset matrix” in the generator to clear the saved draft, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Reset does not delete downloaded files. Private browsing, storage restrictions, or clearing browser data may remove your draft; keep a backup if you need it.

Google Analytics

This site loads Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and use of features. Analytics can use cookies and send Google technical and usage information such as page URLs, referring pages, device/browser details, and interactions. Requests to Google also transmit your IP address as part of the network connection.

The custom events defined by this site record actions such as adding a source, copying an outline, importing a backup, and downloading a template, with row/theme counts or file format. These event parameters do not include your source titles, findings, citation notes, or backup contents.

Analytics may be blocked by your browser or extensions. Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Learn more in Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. This page describes the site’s current implementation; no advertising tags are installed by this project.

Hosting and external links

Delivering the website requires ordinary network requests, which include information such as your IP address, requested URL, and browser headers. Following a DOI, paper, or other external link takes you to a separate website with its own policies.
